Style Alert: Roll, Wrap, & Tuck

(protective style good for dreadlocks; box braids; havana/senegalese/marley etc twists; BS/MB length and longer)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

* styling gel
* grease
* comb
* spray water bottle
* small brush (optional)
* 3-5 hair ties/elastic bands
* 1 bobby pin (use more at your discretion)

HOW TO:

STEP 1: flat twists

  • part the hair (I used a side part but you can also go down the middle)
  • apply product as needed for moisturizing
  • take front of hair and twist it back to a little past the ear on both sides
  • secure the hair with a hair tie (I use small black rubber bands)
  • i two-strand twisted remaining loose hair (optional for loose+locs hair)

STEP 2: retwisting (optional)

  • spray the locs with water to dampen and apply product as necessary for moisturizing/holding
  • retwist the back of the hair if it needs any touch ups for neatness

STEP 3: pigtailed two-strand twists

  • take one side of the parted hair and two strand twist it all the way to the bottom. Secure with a hair tie if necessary.
  • repeat on the other side

STEP 4: updo

  • pull one side of the two-strand twist up and over to the opposite side of your head.
  • pull the other side of the two-strand twist up and over to the other side of your head.
  • secure the criss-crossed ends of both sides to one another and tuck the remaining hair under and in.
  • wrap to secure overnight

And there you have it!

Were these steps easy to follow?

What style would you like to see next?
