STYLE ALERT: High Off-Set Bun w/Braid & Light Waves

Long title today, haha…but it was the best description I could think of for my new do.
I sometimes fall into a "lazy mode" when it comes to the front of my hair…usually I keep the front, unlocked portion of my haired styled in some way that integrates it better with the locks: two strand twists, one-strand twists/baby locks, one-two-or multidirectional flat twists, etc. But all this past week I haven't been in the mood to twist it up so I've just had to create different styles to disguise it.

This weekend I had a show so I thought for sure I'd go on and do something to it…but I still wasn't in the mood and ended up creating this cool, simple style without having to spend too much time on it.

I used a little water, gel, and grease on the unlocked portion and then finger brushed it up into an off centered bun - portioning off a small amount of hair and only wrapping it twice allowing the rest of the "unbunned" part to hang cascading down into the rest of the hair left down.

My locks are still a little wavy from the loc-knot-out I had previously so it looked great. I just touched up some of the roots that would be showing in the back.

Then, I used a small brush to clean up the edges. I took 4 strands from the side/bottom of my hair and braided it up. I used the braid to swoop across the front/top locking in the neatness of the unstraightened  loose hair and adding some intricacy to the hair design.

My interview/performance went great and I got lots of hair compliments :)

STYLE ALERT: Flatiron Flow

I very rarely flatiron my hair…Probably not even a good 10 times in all of my life. This holiday season though, I got the urge to straighten it for whatever reason and I was quite happy with the results. I would probably do it more often if it weren't so much maintenance and lasted longer.
