Transformation Tuesday!

There's a weekly social media hashtag that I wanted to use for this week's post: #TransformationTuesday. It basically calls for a pictorial demonstration of what you used to look like compared to where you are now. My hair (and pretty much everything about me) has grown so very much that I thought it was worth it to share the experience.

I Am NOT My hair!

One of my favorite songs is "I Am Not My Hair" by the soulful India Arie. It just expresses exactly how I feel about the whole hair issue: my hair does not define me. I thought the word pompadour was a little funny sounding so I wanted to see where it came from…apparently King Louis XV had a mistress named

PRODUCT REVIEW: Makeba's Magnificents

This week, as promised, I wanted to talk about a product I got from the Nappywood Weekend LA Natural Hair Expo a couple weeks ago called Makeba's Magnificents.

I saw the creator, Dwana, and asked if I could take a picture because I loved her hair. She has locks and was rocking an awesome style (I wish you could see more of it in the picture…). She in turn asked if she could take one as well because she loved mine (which, of course, at the time was a natural wig).

We started talking about my hair blog and she told me about one of her products that I agreed to review. She's actually a fellow southerner too (She's from Louisiana)!

So the product is called
